ABOUT ME
Dr. Perciano holds a Ph.D in Computer Science from University of Sao Paulo, Brazil (2012). She is currently a member of the Data Analytics and Visualization group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. She leads statistical analysis investigations, has authored a book about image processing using R-statistical framework and she has also developed packages for this platform. She has broad experience in image processing and pattern recognition applied to different types of image data in different scientific fields such as medicine, geoscience, agriculture and material science. She is also part of the CIP team, CAMERA Image Processing, developing scalable algorithms and methods for gaining insight into image-based data collected from experimental/observational science, which involves complex image processing, analysis and understanding. Main areas of research include: (1) image processing and analysis applied to complex and large data; (2) high performance computing; (3) computational statistics.
